Sedofaq is an excellent combination of herbs for sedative effect. It has a range of sedative actions that include pain relief, antidepressant and anxiolytic.
Valeriana is an incredible effective sedative. It is used for insomnia, nervous anxiety and to help the body relax. It's used primarily as a sleep aid but the sedative qualities of valerian are effective at soothing muscles and reducing mental and physical tension so that person can easily relax. Although valerian is potent, it is neither habit-forming nor addictive. Valerian puts person to sleep but doesn't cause a morning hangover or lead to addiction.
Passiflora Incarnata is considered best for mild to moderate anxiety, although it may still be valuable for severe anxiety. It works by reducing muscle tension and insomnia, calming the nerves to prevent agitation, mood swings, headaches and hot flashes from anxiety. Passiflora is used to gently relax the mind/body to prepare for a more restful nights sleep.
Grataegus Sanguinea is an old herbal medicine used as a heart tonic and modern research has borne out this use.
